SHTF scenario...Specifics please
 

Before I get to the point:
I've been hanging around here for awhile before I actually joined, and I've read quite a bit of posts on GIM. I've grown to really respect and identify with nearly all of you guys.
In the past three months, I've aquired: a romainian AK, a Sig 229, 3 weeks
worth of non-perishibles, approx. 70 oz Silver (which I paid 12$-16$ for), and various random survival supplies. I have wanted to do this for years. But only
events of the past 2 or so years (finding GIM included) have really turned my "thinking" into "action".
The point:
I read alot about SHTF on this site, and will continue to read as many posts as I can here, but maybe this could be a thread where we share exactly what our vision of that means.
I guess for me It's a Cat 5 slamming into Palm Beach County, turning this area into a chaotic free-for-all for weeks or even months. Second, would be the same type situation but on a grander scale caused by Avian Flu.

So, Total ecomomic collapse, Cival war, Foriegn invasion, natural disasters, etc.. I'd love to hear it all.

*If the old-timers here deem this thread redundant, so be it. Please erase and point me in the right direction*

I don't really get bad weather here so I really look at bigger things that effect the entire country. The thing that really worries me is a dollar crash.

You look at our insane budget, and our insane debt and you start to think the people running the economy are insane. And they don't seem to care. Our government doesn't care, federal reserve profits off our debt so they want us to borrow into infinity. No one saves money any more and their all in debt. Our stock market does all kinds of goofy things, while the price of silver and gold does the opposite of what it should be doing.

I am not saying it will happen but if you take a good look at our economy you have to be a little worried.
